These wonderful little French cachepots have among their many attributes the fabulous colors of yellow and puce. Each little pot has a different scene painted in this wonderful color on the front and the back, and each pot has slightly different scenes than the other. We have little fat cherubs on one side and a serene little landscape on the other. Offered here is a very pretty small dish having a border decorated in a foliate motif painted by hand with copper lustre leaves and red vines (a wonderfully unexpected combination) on an ivory ground. The plate 5.75" in diameter and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. It is stamped on the back "WEDGWOOD" and "MADE IN ENGLAND" and is 20th century, after 1930.
Here we have a fine looking vase in the certainly Arts and Crafts style, and it looks to be of the period. It has this luscious thick green matte crackle glaze that sort of bubbles over dark brown at the bottom. The interior is a buff colored glaze. The vase is hand thrown and the form is very simple, only slightly flared at the top. It is signed on the bottom with the incised initials LTL. The vase is 5.5" tall. Offered here is a beautiful Louis style French porcelain box with ormolu trim for trinkets or stamps or...nothing at all. The colors are bright and the design of roses and other small flowers, and the c-scrolls are hand painted. The bottom is marked with a mark similar to an old Sevres mark and "made in France". The little box is in fine condition and measures 2.5" by 2.5" and it is 1.5" high. Early-ish 20th century.
Offered here is a fine, hand decorated game bird platter and 10 plates. The were made in Limoges, France and were decorated by Lazeyrus, Rosenfeld and Lehman, circa 1920. There are 3 plates with a mallard (?) drake and hen, three plates with a pair of quail, two plates with either doves or some type of grouse, and two plates with a duck and a baby duck. The platter is quail with young. The platter measures 16" and the plates are 8.5".
Offered here is a fine ceramic pair of parakeets by Stangl. The glaze is in beautiful, glossy greens and some soft yellow on the birds shoulders. The pattern number is 3852, and the artist's initials are CVF. No flaws. 7.25" high and 7.5" across.
Offered here is a beautiful old platter in the lovely, old Moss Rose pattern. English, early 20th century, made by Maddock & Co. Burslem, England. This platter is in very fine condition. There are no losses to the enameled designs. There are losses all around the gilt enamel edge. No chips, cracks or repairs. The platter measures 18.5" by 13".
Offered here is a lovely pair of flower form comports that we believe to be early 20th century. They are the naturalistic style typical of the Art Nouveau period and are a delicate porcelain in a celadon color with rose colored tips and veining. The comports are approximately 4.5" high and about 4.5" across the top as well. There is slight roughness in some areas of edges of the petals, otherwise they are in fine condition.
Offered here is a perfectly charming Austrian majolica leaf form dish with a "fool the eye" ceramic cigar attached. The cigar has a hole in one end and a hand painted cigar band. The dish has a grape and grape leaf design. The dish has no function whatsoever but it is cute as can be. It is in excellent condition and measures about 5.5".
Offered here is one of a pair of late 19th- early 20th century French transferware sauce tureens with the under tray and ladle. The design is one of roses and lattice in green on a white ground. This one has a tiny fleabite on the lid that is barely visible. There are no other flaws that I see. The tureen is 7.5" across. The tray is 9" by 6". Including the tray and to the top of the finial the tureen is about 4.5" high. No markings.
