This item falls into the "what were they thinking?" category. I have seen these from time to time over the years, and I admit to buying them when I find them in good condition because I think they are just so bizarre! They are made of some sort of composite material, it may even be papier mache, but I've never really figured that out, and they are made to look for all the world like the hide of an old alligator or crocodile.
