Offered here is a large decoy type carving of a Curlew, a type of shore bird. It is hand painted, and of substantial size. The bird measures about 16" across and is approximately 12" high on it's stand. I have no real indication that this is an actual decoy, rather a decorative carving of a bird. It is quite handsome with excellent coloring and form. It shows appropriate wear, wobbles slightly on the stand, more that it will tilt slightly rather than turn over.
