SOLD

Offered here is an excellent snuff box of horn and tortoiseshell. It dates to around 1840 to 1850. The box measures almost 4" in length and is just over 1.5" deep, and is 1.25" high. The shell inlay is just beautiful. The horn is...well, just horn, with some graining in the front. The hinge works just fine, and there is no damage to the surface. The lid sits slightly ajar. A very nice example of this work.

SOLD

This is one of two English sterling and horn napkin rings that I have for sale. It has Birmingham hallmarks dating it to 1929-1930, and bears the maker's stamp, which appears to be WHH. The napkin rings have a very nice look...sort of exotic and fun. The horn has separated slightly in two places on each napkin ring, but that is not really a detriment in my opinion. The shield is not monogrammed.

This little snuff box shows exquisite craftsmanship. It is made entirely of horn, tightly fitted, smoothly polished. The hinge and pin is horn and it is perfect. It works smoothly and correctly. The top is inlaid with ivory and tortoiseshell in a checkerboard pattern and it, too, is perfect in it's construction. When you run your finger over it there are no ill-fitted or loose tiles. Inscribed inside the lid is the name, "John Henry Peel". This beautiful box is 3 1/2" by ...click for details
