The bowl is hand made and hand decorated and has a lovely old patina. It measures approximately 10.5" in diameter and is nearly 2" deep. This dates to between 1690-1740.

The top, is made in the shape of a horse's hoof, and is forged in rich pewter. The color has mellowed to a soft dark color, and the hoof is of fine form and detail. The handle is well fitted into the shaft, which is strong and sturdy. I do not know the type of wood. There is a new rubber tip on the bottom. The cane is 35" in length and is in excellent condition.

I don't know what kind of metal it is made of, and it is not marked, but it has the soft glow of pewter. The sides are pierced, the hinge works fine and the lid closes tightly. Just a pretty little piece, about 2.5" in diameter.
