Offered here is a perfectly charming small chair to use by a ladies desk or vanity. It is inlaid with mother of pearl and freehand gilt vines and leaves across the entire back of the chair. Stenciled gilt designs decorate the front of the legs. The cushion is of a wonderful tufted green silk fabric, and is attached. Most of the mother of pearl is there, some of the gilding is slightly worn and there are a few old worm holes in the wood. The silk is strong and clean, although I found 2 very ...click for details

This is a really wonderful chair...very exotic! It is a large armchair with the bamboo root knobs at the back and the arms. The bamboo stiles on the sides go down to a lower rail. The legs terminate in round knobs. The back is covered in a Chinese badge of rank, the cushion in a new gold silk type fabric. The dimensions are 40" high (to the top of the knobs), by 21" by 21". Fabulous chair! Dates to around 1890.

Fuctional and decorative bamboo hall tree from the late Victorian period. All original, including the beveled glass. The stand is sturdy and stands 77" high and is 25.5" wide. The piece has 5 places to hang hats or coats, and will hold a pile of umbrellas and walking sticks. The original drip pan in the bottom keeps a wet umbrella from messing up the floor. English, about 1890.

This great find is a campaign table dating to around 1910. It is called a coaching table, and was probably in the North African campaign. It folds in the middle and has a locking mechanism underneath (see the enlargements). Possibly cherry, but I often have trouble recognizing wood with a finish. Very nice surface, excellent condition. Dimensions are 27.5" by 16" by 32" high.

This is just excellent. This small stand would have been for storage of sewing implements, with a divided box on the top and an undivided box on the bottom. Made of bamboo and sisal, the stand has very nice details around the skirt as well as small wooden tassels that hang from all sides of the arches that decorate the top. The bamboo legs terminate in bamboo knob feet, the boxes are trimmed in bamboo all around. Wonderful condition save some slight discoloration of the sisal at the top. The ...click for details
