Charming hexagonal small box, probably dating from the late XIXth to the early XXth century. It is decorated on the top with a 16-petal chrysanthemum (the imperial symbol) in gold takamakie and on the sides with flying cranes in mother-of-pearl inlay, the contour of the cranes and the box finely outlined in gold makie.
The object is in good condition , with some age-related wear and cracks to the lacquer on the edges. Please, refer to the pictures. Dimensions : 5.3 cm (2.1 in) wide at points, 4.6 cm (1.8 in) wide at sides and 3 cm (1.2 in) high |
