Kakewake  Kutsu-gata Chawan by Nishimura Ichiraku

This colorful vessel is a kakewake kutsu-gata chawan, that is, a tea bowl (chawan) made in a shoe shape (kutsu-gata) with different glazes applied in partition. Usually two glazes are so used; three glaze kakewake chawan are more rare. The bowl was made by a potter named Nishimura Ichiraku, born in 1952 in Kyoto.

The chawan bears the seal of the potter and is in perfect condition. It will be shipped in a signed box.
