Roman Glass, Syrian Bottle, 3rd ~ 5th century AD

A splendid Roman glass in very good condition, probably used as a bottle and made in Syria during the 3rd to 5th century AD. The green and blue silvery iridescence create a remarkable, gemlike objet.

From the private collection of a Japanese gentleman.
The vessel will be shipped in a paulownia wood box, made to fit the artifact, as it is often customary in Japan for valuable objets. The box is signed by Ichikawa Kiyoshi, a Japanese specialist of old world antiques, as an attestation of the artifact's authenticity.

Please inquire if you have some questions. More pictures available on request.

Dimensions: 9.6 x 3.9 (mouth) x 11.7 cm (3.84 x 1.56 x 4.68 in); 58g (2.03 oz)
