Roman Glass, Syrian Bottle, 3rd ~ 5th century AD

A splendid Roman glass in very good condition, probably used as a bottle and made in Syria during the 3rd to 5th century AD. The green and blue silvery iridescence create a remarkable, gemlike objet.

From the private collection of a Japanese gentleman.
The vessel will be shipped in a paulownia wood box, made to fit the artifact, as it is often customary in Japan for valuable objets. The box is signed by Ichikawa Kiyoshi, a Japanese specialist of old world antiques, as an attestation of the artifact's authenticity.
