Of six-sided scalloped form, the exterior decorated with a woman in her chambers surrounded by male attendants all painted in vibrant enamels, the interior and base glazed turquoise, rim with gilt, the base with a maker’s mark in overglaze red. Tongzhi. 5 in. diam.

Sitting on four round bronze legs, the bronze box heavily molded with scrolls amidst florals and clouds, the Canton enamel inserts painted with river and mountain scenes, the top with a seated woman next to a fenced garden, the base glazed white. Qing. 3 ¼ in. x 2 5/8 in.
