Old French Plates. Children in vintage military uniform. Photo shows 2 of a series. Others are available. Each scene depicts a precious scene with a title below. The two plates featured are titled, "Sollicitude" where the drummer boy bundles the enchanted girl with his coat, scarf and hat; and "Deception" shows the boy and girl back to back, the young lady weeping and the young lad obviously dismayed.

Rare design, Quimper French Faience, flow blue bird with nest of eggs. I have collected Quimper for many years and this is the first time I have ever seen such a design. Magnifique! Large platter or charger, grand size, 13 1/2". Pierced on the back, for hanging. Signed HenRiot Quimper France. As you can see in the photo, there is some rough edges, but typical of this age and style and only adds to the character of the piece.
