French Fleur de lis Dish, Orleans, Hotel de Ville
This French dish has the large hotel de ville from the French village or city of Orleans. At each corner of the dish is a large fleur de lys, or fleur de lis. There are two little rounded sections which give the appearance that it possibly was a petite ashtray. It is the perfect size and shape, and is currently used to hold business cards for a French antiques dealer, yours truly. Could also serve to hold rings, pocket change, as a soap dish, wall decor, etc. Mark in shown on reverse, Enlargement 2. Photo of reverse also shows chip in upper right corner. Estimated age, pre 1960
