A 19th century Staffordshire china cottage c1850-60s. It is the flat back type, and measures 4 1/4" high and 3 7/16" across. The colouration is simple - yellow ochre and rust-brown. It is overall in excellent condition for its age except for a small chip on the chimney and wear to the painted decoration. The bocage around the roof eaves is in excellent shape (very minor loss, not noticeable) and no cracks, crazing, staining or repairs. Cottages are hard to find, and this is a nice example. All
items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. Surface shipping to the continental U.S. starts at $12 (other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $85 if paid with a credit card. A fine looking 19th century Staffordshire figurine of a girl with a basket of fruit riding a goat c1840-60. It measures 7 1/2" high and 5 1/2" at the widest. It is a fully decorated and figured Staffordshire figure, not a flat back style. It is in excellent condition except for one detail - the tip of the girl's foot is chipped. Other than that, it is in exceptional shape - no cracks, crazing or repairs, and the paint in in excellent shape. There is a firing crack on the back of the girl's neck, but it is original to the manufacture of the piece, and does not detract. A fine example. All
items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. A true rarity of vintage American pressed or pattern glass. This is the 5-1/4" long and 4-5/8" wide wall pocket in the Elephant or Jumbo pattern in amber glass, issued by the King Glass Co. in 1890. Variously described as a match holder, match striker, wall pocket or vase, this item has vivid and crisp detail. It is 2-3/4" deep and is guaranteed to be antique glass. This item is in fair original condition with no chips, losses, damage or repairs other than a large internal crack below the eye and above the tusks. This crack is visible from the front and around the back and it appears to be a dividing line between the light upper glass and the deeper amber hue of the glass in the trunk. It can't be felt from the front but can be felt with a fingernail on the interior - the integrity of the piece is intact. Please note the straw mark just below the eye in the last picture (it's not a crack); this item's book value is $750 + in intact condition. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. Surface shipping to the continental U.S. starts at $8 (other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $85 if paid with a credit card. An attractive Japanese Meiji period silver 5-1/2" x 3-1/2" picture frame c1880-1900. This frame has a bamboo pattern with a patterned ground; it has a textured snakeskin styled backing that originally had a support foot for standing up the frame (now missing and replaced with a wire and eyelets). The frame is mounted with copper round-head nails; it retains the original patterned backing paper and glass window. It is unmarked, as was often the case with older Japanese silver, but tests as very high grade silver. This item is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, dents, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than the loss of the foot rest and slight bending at the lower right hand corner (very minor). All
items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. Surface shipping to the continental U.S. starts at $6 (other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $85 if paid with a credit card.
