A splendid, vintage Dutch sterling silver openwork tea strainer on its original clawfoot stand. This 5-1/4 x 3-1/4" stand features birds and flowers and the stand has a repousse foliate design. Each is fully hallmarked for Amsterdam, Holland 1918, and they bear the maker's mark for Fa. Dahlia. This strainer and stand weighs 99.5 grams, and it is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. All
items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. A stunning, all original pristine .800 silver coffee service for 12 c1905-10. In its original fitted case, this set consists of twelve 3-3/4" coffee spoons with gilt bowls, sugar tongs, and the ornate silver sugar bowl with the original clear glass liner. The box is green paper wrapped with gold borders and gilt shell clasps; the interior is silk lined with the L. Posen Wwe. retail stamp. It has the designation in the stamp Hoflieferant, which translates as suppliers or purveyors to the Imperial Court, which was granted to this firm in 1903. The well-respected German silver firm Lazarus Posen Witwe (widow) was established in 1869, and was in operation until it was destroyed by the Nazis at Kristallnacht in 1938. Each piece is stamped with the Posen marks, and the bowl features an exquisitely detailed gryphon and wreath openwork design; the inrterior is gilt as well. The 4" diameter sugar bowl has a clear crystal liner with a polished pontil, and there is a sugar tongs as well as the 12 spoons. The box measures 13" x 9-1/2", and this stunning quality set is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs, it appears possibly unused. There is only a bit of tearing of the bottom paper, a bit of soiling to the silk on the inside of the lid and some darkening of the gold borders on the exterior. All

A stunning, top quality German 800 silver tall claret jug from the Arts and Crafts period. This c.1900 vintage claret decanter has a heavy sterling handle and hinged top with a ball thumb rest mounted on a tall ribbed cut crystal decanter. It measures 13-7/8" tall and 5-1/2" across the cut crystal base. It is stamped Gebr. Friedland, a Berlin jewellery firm, operated by the sons after the death of the founder Friedland in 1829. It has the German silver marks (post-1888 crescent & crown stamp), 800 silver, 49961 and a maker's stamp for Koch & Bergfeld of Bremen (est. 1829). There is a very finely engraved heraldic family crest with a fish, knight's helmet with three feathers and engraved scrolling. This this top quality rarity is in excellent condition with no cracks, etching or discolouration, silver corrosion or damage, repairs or alterations; there is a 1/4" chip to the crystal on the bottom rim which is only slightly noticeable when the piece is displayed from that side.
