A vintage sterling charm bracelet with a really unusual late Victorian period Essex crystal charm. The 9/16" antique charm is dome-shaped, and consists of a reverse painted antique Essex domed crystal depicting a gentleman bicycle rider in a red and white striped shirt, dark pantaloons and blue leggings/stockings. The bike is black framed with red on the chain section and heavy-framed, with the wide slightly down-turned semi-circular handlebars you see in 1890s bicycles. The crystal is in what appears to be a nickel silver plate frame. Essex crystals were a Victorian period fancy, with the crystal being reverse carved then hand painted to show the detail of the design. I have never run across one before with a bicycle and rider. The 7" long x 5/16" wide sterling silver bracelet consists of unsoldered double links with a spring-ring catch on one end with an added loop at the other (one of the double loops is missing leaving a single 1/3 of the way along the bracelet) and the bracelet itself dates to the 1960s. This item weighs 10.9 grams (total). The bracelet is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs, and the Essex crystal is in excellent shape also, just a few minute scratches visible on the back of the crystal (they appear more pronounced in our photos than in real life, as the views are blown up to make the fine detail visible). v. A fine quality vintage 19th century 1-1/2" across sterling silver Scottish agate pebble brooch in the form of a hand-emgraved sash with crescent. The stones include bloodstone, jasper and another green agate. This pin is unsigned (typical of Scottish pieces) and it tests as silver. It has a c-clasp and a loop for wear as a pendant; it weighs 9.8 grams. A wonderfully ornate Victorian 1-7/8 x 1-1/2" (without the bale and loop) sterling silver photo locket c1880s. This unmarked (but tested) locket has a great design with hand engraving, silver twisted wire and silver "jewels"; it retains the two photo retaining bezels on the inside. This locket has deep hand egraving and tooling on the front, with rose gold bars and a flower and a green gold leaf. The back has a repeat of the fancy border and the hallmarks, with an H&B maker's mark. A beautiful sterling silver GOOD LUCK horseshoes bangle bracelet c1880s. This bracelet features two horseshoes (GOOD and LUCK) applied to a rolled hollow silver bangle, which has a pin and loop style catch. Sport jewellery of this type was very popular in the 1880-90s, but silver bracelets are fairly hard to run across.
