A bright and cheerful fully hand stitched Star of Bethlehem 92-1/2" x 84" cotton quilt c1940s-50. In excellent original condition, it has fine lightweight attractively stitched white cotton around the star (one corner of the white cotton is a slightly darker colour of cloth, a bit ecru) and a finely patterned blue chintz pattern cotton backing. Some of the fabric was purchased new in 1940s, but it also contains pieces of older fabric from the 1930s. This item is in excellent original condition with no tears, holes, stains, fading, losses, damage or repairs. Clean and odor free, and it was carefully stored. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use. An attractive, framed needlepoint floral picture in a Victorian Eastlake period design frame. The 9-1/2" x 7-1/2" (glass size) wool needlepoint is in pinks, mauve, and greens and greys. The 15" x 13" Eastlake period frame features cut-to-wood decorative carving, a black Japanned finish and faux woodgrain with stencilled gold trim and highlights, and dates to c1870s. It has a pencil notation on the back: "Frames from Olive H. Glass's Family - her grandparents. Needlepoint done by Ailyn M. Glass 1968 for Victoria from Mother." This item is in excellent condition with no corrosion, losses, major damage or repairs other than some very minor nicks and losses to the ornate frame; it has been glazed with non-glare glass. A splendid, long country Quebec rag rug cotton runner rug c1920s-30s. These rugs are made from narrow, coloured cloth strips. Found stored for decades in an attic trunk and smell/smoke free, this runner measures just under 8 feet long and is 20-1/2" wide (sans fringe); the colours are vibrant and unfaded and this rug, as far as we know, was put in the trunk and never used. It has some minor breaks/pulls on the last few strips on the end, which appear to be unfinished - they have not been knotted or stitch finished at the end. Perfect for your country or folk decor. This item is in excellent original condition with no losses, tears, fading, staining, damage or repairs other than stated above, and appears not to have been used on a floor (possibly because it was originally intended to be longer?). A scarce vintage 8" x 8" printed cotton handkerchief with images by Mabel Lucie Atwell c1910-20. This hanky has whimsically drawn coloured birds, lamb, squirrel, snail, mouse and a child cuddling a lamb, with the legend WEDNESDAY. This item is in excellent original condition with no rips, tears, stains, losses, damage or repairs. The hanky is clean, however the hanky appears a little soiled in our scans. A vintage 8" x 8" pure silk printed child's handkerchief depicting British Beefeater guards, airplanes, and a boy with a gun. It is unsigned, and the figures include two marching guards, a bugler, drummer, parade leader with sword, a shooting boy in shorts, and two airplanes. This World War I vintage hanky is in very good original condition with no losses, damage or repairs other than a small 1/4 x 1/8" tear, three staple holes, one tiny hole at the edge and a small dime-sized light stain. A high quality, bright and colourful Belgian design woven tapestry cotton and silk table runner c1900-10. This beautiful 52" x 26" table runner features flowers and phoenix birds, and the colours include blue, red, gold, lilac and silver. The verso design itself is also quite attractive, with black, lilac and green. This item is in excellent original condition with no losses, damage or repairs other than some minor fraying to a few areas of the black stitched edging and a small stain on the reverse not affecting the front; the colours are bright and unfaded. A lovely bright green silk/cotton fabric vintage house dress or robe c1940s-1950, with the tag made in Japan by Mme. Butterfly. It has fine leaf and flower stitching throughout and traditional Chinese style loop and knot "buttons", made of rolled and sewn fabric. It retains its original tag which lists the size a M (medium) which would probably equate to a current size 12 and the straight cut body of the robe measures 22 1/2" across the waist (front measure taken, complete circumference approximately 45") and the measurement from the collar to bottom hem is 43" in length(front measure taken). The sleeves are 3/4 length in a no shoulder seam style. It is an interesting combination of a classic Chinese style made to suit Western requirements, as it has practical pockets on the front in the robe. It is in very good condition with no losses, repairs or damage other than some very slight lightening/streaking, and it is a little wrinkled.
