A scarce vintage 8" x 8" printed cotton handkerchief with images by Mabel Lucie Atwell c1910-20. This hanky has whimsically drawn coloured birds, lamb, squirrel, snail, mouse and a child cuddling a lamb, with the legend WEDNESDAY. A beautiful vintage embroidered silk/linen evening gown, with a matching evening wrap or cape c1930. It has the typical late 1920s-early 1930s multi-panel bias cut construction, with a deep rounded peter pan collar. The fabric, which is a lovely peach-orange shade, was embroidered in a silk in a simple stitch in varying soft jade green shades, teal, with a touch of cream and red for the flowers. An attractive, framed needlepoint floral picture in a Victorian Eastlake-style frame. The 9-1/2" x 7-1/2" (glass size) needlepoint is in pinks, mauve, and greens and greys. The 15" x 13" Eastlake period frame features cut-to-wood decorative carving, a black Japanned finish and faux woodgrain with stencilled gold trim and highlights, and dates to c1870s. A splendid, long country Quebec rag rug cotton runner rug c1920s-30s. These rugs are made from narrow, coloured cloth strips. Found stored for decades in an attic trunk and smell/smoke free, this runner measures just under 8 feet long and is 20-1/2" wide (sans fringe); the colours are vibrant and unfaded and this rug, as far as we know, was put in the trunk and never used.
