This is a pair of vintage 1950s painted chalkware bookends of seated male and female Nubian figures. They stand 9" tall and 6" actross the "pillow" they are seated on; each has a fitted glass dish (purpose unknown) and they are painted in orange, black and gold. They are unsigned, and they are in very good original condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs other than a very few small paint flakes on the female and some moderate flakes on the male ...click for details
