EVA BROOK DONLY (Canada 1867-1941) OIL ON PANEL
An impressionistic framed oil on panel painting depicting a large willow tree in the bush by Eva Brook Donly (Canada 1867-1941). Born in Simcoe, Ontario, she studied under Frederick M. Bell-Smith at Alma College and the School for Artisans New York under John Ward Stimson. She also studied at the San Carlos Academy in Mexico City under Jose M. Pino. Works by this listed artist (Dictionary of Canadian Artists) are on display at the Eva Brook Donly Museum in Simcoe and in the National Gallery of Canada. This painting measures 11-3/4" x 8-1/2" sight size, and it is in a 13-1/2" x 10-1/2" gilt wood frame and it is unsigned, with an ink notation on the back "The Weeping Willow Painted by Eva Brook Donly" in the artist's handwriting. It is in excellent original condition with no tears, staining, fading, losses, damage or repairs. This is one of a series of works obtained from the estate of a relative of the artist. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted. Surface shipping to the continental U.S. starts at $22 (other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $85 if paid with a credit card. Items paid with a credit card will be shipped to confirmed addresses only. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US. NOTE: we do not accept PayPal.
