| A very rare American coin silver 10-1/4" cake saw (cake knife) in the Medallion of Dionysus pattern, introduced in 1863 by Hotchkiss & Schreuder of Syracuse, New York (1864-1871+). Later re-issued in sterling silver (1867), this rare serving piece has the early H&S mark; the hand engraving and stippling is stunning, as is the thickness of the knife and the clarity of the design. This unusual piece weighs an impressive 95 grams (3 ounces), it has a Gothic MR monogram, and it is in excellent original condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use. Surface shipping to the continental U.S. starts at $6 (other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $85 if paid with a credit card. Items paid with a credit card will be shipped to confirmed addresses only. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US. NOTE: we do not accept PayPal. | |||||||||
