A scarce matching pair of Early American Pressed Glass 6-3/4" tall vases c1906. These Jefferson ruffled top spool vases have opalescent tops and allover threading. They were most likely used as match or spills holders for the fireplace with the threading used for striking the matches; their heavy weight, thick glass and flared foot would have been for stability and the match reservoir ends a full 1-1/2" from the base. An early American pressed glass 8-3/8" across and 4-1/2" tall cake stand in the McKee Glass Company Feather pattern, issued in the 1890s.
