| This is a Pre-Columbian INCA / INKA Double Chamber Stirrup Spout WHISTLE Vessel from Peru, 1000 - 1400 A.D. It measures about 2 3/4" X 5 3/4" X 6" ( 7.0 cm X 14.7 cm X 15.3 cm ). As it can be seen on the pictures, there's a crack around the base of one of the spouts and a crack between the stirrup and the spout. There's a chip on one of the bases (front end). The vessel portrays a zoomorphic figure on one of the spouts. The Inca Civilization dominated The Andes from around 1438 to 1533. The Inca Empire was known as The Tawantinsuyu or The Land of the Four Regions. Inca cities were remarkably built with precise stonework. Agriculture was not only practiced on the valleys, but also on the mountains and hills, known as terrace farming. Machu Picchu is the symbol of the Inca Empire, located at 2,430 meters (8,000 ft) above sea level. Today, Machu Picchu is considered one of the Wonders of the Modern World. Besides being magnificent crafters and potters, they excelled in metallurgy and were successful brain surgeons. | ||
