Lovely brass and enamel opera glasses with a telescoping handle. The enamel is a soft blue with hand painted flowers. There is inset Mother of Pearl at the bottom of the handle. This matches the Mother of Pearl around the lenses which are signed MAPPIN & WEBB. Mappin & Webb was founded in 1774 in the UK and is still in existence. Magnificent red enamel opera glasses circa late 1800's with woman's faces on the glasses and a wonderful winged angelon the telescoping handle. The glasses are also decorated with the most glorious foiled flowers. They are marked VERDI PARIS on the Mother of Pearl eye pieces. The metal is brass. The mechanisms and optics work fine.
