This is a scarce Civil War era engraving by John Sartain after a painting by G. Schussele. It was printed in 1864 and was a popular print during the war. This is a proof print on thin paper laid down on a rag paper backing originally. This is in the best condition we have ever seen this print in. No stains or spots at all. I do not think it was ever framed. We have matted it in a cream colored mat which is 20 1/2 by 25 1/2

This is a scarce very large 24 by 32 tinted lithograph of Henry Clay. It was drawn on stone by Lafosse after the Daguerreotype by M. Brady in 1856. It was printed in France by Goupil with their Paris embossed stamp. It is in very good condition aside from some wrinkling in the paper the largest which was done when pulling the print above and to the left of his head. I could find no other copies of this scarce print. Goupil did another about this size around 1861 by the same artist but a different ...click for details

This is a large etching by the well listed Dutch artist Hendrik Kruseman van Elten 1829-1904.He moved to New York in 1866 and lived there most of his life. He exhibited at the 1876 and 1893 Fairs and at the National Academy.I believe this large 11 by 17 image size etching is of a Harbor on the French coast due to the style of buildings and boats. In lovely condition with wide margins this may be a proof print as it lacks a title and has a remarque. In a cream mat size 18 by 24.
