This is a original gouache illustration by Bill Griffith for the August 1955 issue of Sports Afield.The story was the Saga of the Red Wolf.The art is 11 by 12 1/2+ margins and has been framed in a simple wood frame 17 1/2 by 18 1/2.Picture is in good condition but has some small spots on the right side and a light one near top center.I presume it sat around for a time before being framed.Griffith worked for Sports Afield for a number of years. He did cover art and interior illustrations.

This is a nice large 25 inch bronze casting of Socrates by the Barbedienne Foundry in France.It has the A Collas Reduction seal set into the side of the base.It should date from around 1880. If you like nice classical sculpture this is in great condition and in a nice large size.My photos show some reddish glare that is not on the statue. the patina is a nice rich dark brown all over. This is fresh from a estate collection of great classical sculpture.

This is wonderful luminescent watercolor by the American Artist George Howell Gay 1858-1931.It depicts a fall marsh scene with birch trees.The image is about 8 by 18 1/2 and is in fine condition with great fresh looking colors. This is a wonderful Italian bronze by the listed artist Ezio Ceccarelli 1865-1927.This statue is done in a Italian style known as Bozzettismo which implies a casual rapidly executed sculpture in which all the masses lights shadows and surfaces are done well enough to be legible.This was popular from the 1880's to the 1930's.This group stands 22 inches tall and is about 11 inches across.It is signed by the artist and the foundry which was Vignali in Firenze.It is in absolutely wonderful c ...click for details

This is a great large 18 by 23 1/2 tempra water color by Maria Gianni.By far the largest work by her that we have run across.I believe this to be a view of the Amalfi coast line.It is presently in its original 1920's early 30's gold frame.It appears to be in excellent condition.
