| This is wonderful luminescent watercolor by the American Artist George Howell Gay 1858-1931.It depicts a fall marsh scene with birch trees.The image is about 8 by 18 1/2 and is in fine condition with great fresh looking colors. It is housed in a period 21 by 31 inch Victorian frame with the original mat.While most famous for his seascapes he also did a number of these fall scenes.Gay was born in Milwaukee studied in Chicago and worked in New York.He showed at the National Academy of Design and the Boston Art Club. He has many listing of his paintings and water colors. | ||
