Made from translucent, gray, Flint Ridge material, this intact example of an early Archaic period (7500 BCE) knife blade shows ancient re-sharpening, indicating long use by the maker. Typical small base type which was 'ground,' or dulled, in order to keep it from splitting the sinew bindings and wooden shaft of the handle.
