| A male in ceremonial, avian-like costume, completely bedecked with organic materials and handmade accouterments. This splendid image, part of the "Man as Art" series, was taken by Malcolm Kirk in Sokabi village, Western Province of Papua New Guinea, between the years of 1967-1980. "It strikes me that of all the animals that have influenced mankind, we have felt the greatest affinity with birds".....Malcolm Kirk, from the foreword in "Man as Art," 1993, Chronicle Books. | ||
