It is a hard wood and probably dates around 1830. It is English. It is about 11" long and in excellent condition.

This is a wonderful antique sewing clamp, circa 1850, used to hold the fabric to a table and leave both hands free to hem. It is about 7 1/2" long and has no repairs. The condition is good used. I think the pincushion fabric has been replaced. The red seal on the top reads "A TRIFLE FROM BRIGHTON". The colored engraving on the front is titled "PAVILION BRIGHTON". The top unscrews to give storage space for small bits.
