Antique Derby Bough Pot Landscape Salmon Pink Ground
This is a wonderful 18th century Derby bough pot made in England circa 1790.The painting of a church surrounded by trees is lovely. The handles are carefully molded lions. The pot stands 5 1/2" tall and is 9 1/2" across from handle to handle. There are no chips, repairs or cracks. The photo of the bottom shows lines of dirt, not cracks. The major problem is the lack of the lid which would organize the boughs. There is no mark but the form is in plates 222 and 253 in the Twitchett book "Derby Porcelain". We think it is painted by John or Robert Brewer.
