The State House in Philadelphia, 1762. Original engraving hand coloured by John Serz from a Original Oil Painting. C. 1860. John Serz. engraver was born in Bavaria in 1810. Left Germany in 1848. Worked in New York City. 1849-1850 and thereafter in Philadelphia where he was very well known for his engravings of portraits,landscapes and historical subjects. Published by Janentzky in the mid 19TH Century. Information is on back of frame, Charles Sessler,Inc., Book Seller and Print Seller, 1308 Walnut Street, Philadelphia. Framed in a gilded frame with old matting. Decent Condition.
