| Circa 1850-1870 Japanese Imari Punch Bowl measuring 15" In Diameter and 5 3/4" In Depth. To describe this Bowl Adequately is somewhat difficult. This Bowl has the most intricate detail imaginable. The amount of gilding is Incredible. In the Bottom of the Bowl is a Mirror Image of the bowl itself. The Interior walls of the bowl contain Exquisite detail, Enamels and Network. There are four vignettes, each with "The Three Friends" (Prunus,Pine and Bamboo) The vignettes are in the shape of a peach. This Really is a Standout Bowl. Outside the vignettes are elaborated ribbons flowing which are tied with a Beautiful Gilded Ground. The same decoration found on the inside is also gracing the outside of the bowl. Excellent Condition. No Restoration. This is in my opinion and others who have viewed it, The Most Beautiful Piece of Jaapanese Imari. This Bowl is a GEM!!!!! This is one of two Imari Bowls that we recently purchased from a Local Collector. | |||||||||
