| It is Very Rare that you will find a Chinese Export Carp Tureen or referred to as a Fish Tureen, with a orange-red fish flopped on it's side with it's head and tail curling up with a small carp perched on its cover serving as a knop or a finial. Several Years ago I sold one manufactured by Mottahedah FOR $2,000.00. Previous to that one a real chinese export Fish Tureen identical or I should say that the Mottahedah one was identical to this real one that sold at Christie's in New York on January 26,2006 for $168,000. This surely made the exact replica made by Mottahedah to be quite a bargain. We now have come up with another of these Mottahedeh Fish Tureen. Wonderful Orange and Salmon Colors with gold gilding. Gilding is worn in a few spots from being handled over the years. It measures 17" from the fish's mouth to his tail. Wonderful small carp as handle for the cover. | |||||||||||||||
