Ancient, rare Korean stoneware lidded jar that was made during the Three Kingdoms period, 57 BC - AD 668, (between the 5th and 6th century AD), by residents of the Silla Kingdom in the south-east of Korea. Antique bronze Thai Buddha in style of Dvaravati. The figure is seated on a double lotus base with hands held out at the waist in the “teaching Buddha” position. The hair shows hand workmanship rather than being just cast as part of the bronze figure and is tightly curled around his head. The Buddha also features elongated earlobes and downcast eyes, typical of early castings. Sukhothai circular shaped covered bowl with a coarse grey-brown, speckled, stoneware body, on a curved foot with a sunken base. It has a faded brown band around the base, the sides rising up to the upper bowl and matching lid.
