Japanese Kutani porcelain tea caddy with three parts: top, inner lid and body. The main body of the tea caddy is slightly ribbed beneath the upper trim and above the gilt brown stylized rock trim around the bottom. This is an antique Japanese bronze vase with incised designs of trees, limbs, vines and leaves. It features applied copper (shibyama) work of flowers, leaves, fruit and a bird. The vase is in very good condition, with a slightly uneven bottom corrected with felt pads. The size is 6” H x 2-1/2” Diameter; and it weighs 12 oz. Age is circa late 1800’s, Meiji Period

This offering is for an interesting, finely detailed bronze Shi Shi (foo lion) that was once attached to a large bronze incense burner or container. The Shi Shi has front and back legs spaced-apart, with large ears, a long mane, bulging eyes, and a detailed tongue shown sticking out between its teeth. It also has a large flowing tail. Chinese Rose Canton shallow bowl with bright enamel rim of flowers and fruits surrounding two ladies in the center with butterflies, scroll, drum and box designs. Also there are small Chinese characters in black ink on the front of the bowl. The back of the bowl has an inverted foot and pin marks. The bowl measures 8-3/4”Diameter, 14.5 oz. and is in excellent condition. Age is c. early 1800’s.

The beautifully decorated plate features an orange/red phoenix (ho bird) with gilt highlights on one side and a scroll design with a rolled cobalt edge and containing a table and basket of flowers on the other side. Japanese bronze Champlevé vase with archaic designs and mythological animal handles. The vase has a “Greek key” design under four bands of enamel shields, “T’ou-T’ieh” mask symbols , lotus flowers and leaves decorations. Size is 9-1/2” H x 7” W handle to handle, with a 6” Diameter body, and weighs 4.12 lbs. Impressed on the bottom of the vase is the mark, “Made in Japan”. Condition is excellent. Age is early 20th century, Meiji Period.
