An Early Four-case Black Lacquer Inro with roiro ground, depicting two dogs playing with an awabi shell on a rope in rubbed gold takamakie with traces of tin inlay. The shell is covered with aogai kirigane and the interior of roiro with fundame edges. Includes a finely carved round ojime. Size: 2-3/4” high x 2-1/4” wide x ¾” deep. Condition is excellent. 18th century.

Rare porcelain netsuke of a head nodding monkey god dressed as a Sambusa Dancer. As head nods, it tongue moves in and out. The netsuke is made of bisque with a white-blue, green glaze on the hat, and body that is decorated with fan and flowers. Excellent condition, with some original spots where the glaze did not adhere. Circa mid-1800's.
