Antique Hmong, Laotian, hand crafted solid bronze tribal bracelet with applied decorations of snakes, frog, insects, fauna and other critters around the edge of the bracelet. This incredible, work of metal art was acquired in Northern Laos during the early 1960’s. The bracelet has a wrist opening of 2-5/8” (20cm), and outer measurements of 3-3/8” (18cm); and weighs 5 oz. Condition is very good, with some wear and a small spot showing the color of the bronze under the dark patina. C. 1900.

Hmong tribal hammered silver bracelet with a coiled wire design on each end near the opening. The coiled covering on one side of the bracelet slides open and closed. The bracelet has an interior wrist opening of 2-1/2” (19cm), total measurement of 3” Diameter (23cm); and weight is 4.25 oz/120.5g. Percent of silver content is 80. Condition is very good, but has some wear from age, and some small openings/loss in the coiled wire bands. Early 1900s.

This is an offering for a Miao Hmong silver bangle/bracelet that was acquired in Northern Laos during the early 1960’s. It was designed by a skilled tribal Silversmith with a braided pattern design on the interior and exterior of the bracelet. There are worn “X” designs/marks on the chevron ends. Early bronze betel cylinder shaped box that was used for white lime paste with the betel (still has some residue), and has a variety of finely detailed decorations, with a matching lid that fits snugly on the body of the container. Has a cone shaped protuberance on the top of its head with a wide diadem with small lotus leaves. Authentic period bronze Thai Buddha in style of Dvaravati. The figure is seated on a double lotus base with hands held out at the waist in the “teaching Buddha” position. The hair shows hand workmanship rather than being just cast as part of the bronze figure and is tightly curled around his head.
