| This is an early 1900’s Japanese bronze sculpture of a growling tiger, with its head raised and mouth open bearing finely sculpted teeth and curled tongue, with inset eyes, and a long tail that is extended to the rear with a curled tip. It features detailed raised stripes with a shiny, reddish brown finish over darker mat finished body, created from a unique acid etching process. There is an applied seal w/makers mark on the underside near the rear legs, and an etched signature above it. Size: 2-3/4” h x 5-1/2” wide x 1-1/4” deep. Condition is excellent. Early 1900’s. | ||||||||||||
