| This painting is part of the “Nostalgia of the Plains” oil on masonite by Texas Panhandle artist D.R. Parker. It depicts a windy sky as light breaks over the plains. Parker uses at least 13 coats of transparent glaze in and over his paintings to achieve the surreal look. Some of his paintings are also viewed as mystical because of the soft subtle finish.
