Excellent Tang Dynasty Tomb Pottery Camel #A Period: Tang Dynasty, China, AD 618-907. Size: This camel is approximately 16.5 inches in height. Condition: Good, repairs to legs, color fading, abrasions, small chips and/or minor deterioration with possible areas of expert restoration is not unusual in burial pieces of this age. Description: This is a well-proportioned camel with twin humps and long legs. It also has a nice and long curving neck. Camels carried both passengers and goods and were the chief means of transportation along the Silk Road that linked China to the West. NOTE: This camel has a mate if you wish to acquire a pair, please inquire. This camel is valued at $3000, but the collector is willing to take a loss and let it go at $2000.
