Chinese Painted Tomb Pottery Hollowware Bell Period: Han Dynasty 206 BC to 220 AD China. Size: The piece is approximately 5" tall to the top of the nib and has a 14 1/2" circumference. Condition: Color fading, abrasions, small chips and/or minor deterioration with possible areas of expert restoration is not unusual in burial pieces of this age. Description: This is an interesting piece of early Chinese tomb pottery, perhaps an early bell, dated to the Han Dynasty, and one of five we will be offering. It is hollow with a visible seam on the bottom and a 1/4" hole in the top by a raised nib. From the nib is a triangular shaped orange painted overlay going down the side of the piece. Painted all over with many black and white swirls, it takes on the appearance of an open-mouthed face from the top. The piece is very light-weight but due to its fragile nature will require extra packaging. Shipping, Handling & Insurance: U.S. continental customers: $15.00, International Economy to Europe $75.00. Please contact us for specific destination. Insurance: Required, $1 for each one hundred dollars declared in value. |
