| Subject to prior sale. Beautiful Set of Three Tang Dynasty Tomb Pottery Painted Lokapalas Period: Tang Dynasty 618 to 907, China. Size: These wonderful sculptures stand 12.99" tall. Condition: Color fading, abrasions, small chips and/or minor deterioration with possible areas of expert restoration is not unusual in burial pieces of this age. Description: These are handsome, tall sculptures of lokapalas of the Tang Dynasty in China. Each has a distinct facial expression and personality. The three of them each are standing on a rocky surface or mound. They are dressed in what appears to be colorful armor. They each have very decorative headpieces as well. There is still a lot of original pigments remaining on these three lokapalas. This group of three is very detailed. The lokapalas were though to ward off evil from the tomb. These lokapalas may be purchased individually or as a set. They are $1400.00 each or $3600 for the set of three. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at minggallery@aol.com.
