Magnificent Tang Dynasty Tomb Pottery Camel
Beautiful Tang Dynasty Painted Tomb Pottery Camel Period: Tang Dynasty, China, 618 to 907 AD. Size: Height 22.5" Condition: Good,with some original pigments, some color fading, abrasions, small chips and/or minor deterioration with possible areas of expert restoration is not unusual in burial pieces of this age. Description: This well-proportioned camel has twin humps and long legs. This camel stands foursquare on a rectangular slab base. It has a long, curving neck, and holds his head high. Camels carried both passengers and goods and were the chief means of transportation along the Silk Road that linked China to the West. Buyer may request this item TL tested (thermoluminiscence) by Oxford Authentication in England for an additional fee of $450.00 for items in our China distribution point.
