| Beautiful Tang Dynasty Painted Tomb Pottery Camel Period: Tang Dynasty, China, 618 to 907 AD. Size: Height 22.5" Condition: Good,with some original pigments, some color fading, abrasions, small chips and/or minor deterioration with possible areas of expert restoration is not unusual in burial pieces of this age. Description: This well-proportioned camel has twin humps and long legs. This camel stands foursquare on a rectangular slab base. It has a long, curving neck, and holds his head high. Camels carried both passengers and goods and were the chief means of transportation along the Silk Road that linked China to the West.
