| Wonderful Tang Dynasty Painted Tomb Pottery Prancing Horse With Oxford Certificate Period: Tang Dynasty 618 to 907, China. Size: This wonderful statue is approximately 20.9" tall. Condition: The statue is in beautiful condition with good original pigment still remaining. Color fading, abrasions, small chips and/or minor deterioration with possible areas of expert restoration is not unusual in burial pieces of this age. Description: This is a very beautiful horse with a Tl Certificate from Oxford Authentication in England. The horse is beautifully sculpted with a fine, narrow face and strong chest. The horse has a very distinct look on his face with his mouth slightly open. This horse is a beautiful red color and still has a great deal of original red pigment still remaining. This horse is also wearing a saddle and blanket. The horse was sculpted to look as if he were prancing and it is very evident in this statue. This is an excellent example of tomb pottery of this style and age. Buyer may request this item TL tested (thermo luminescence) by Oxford Authentication in England for an additional fee of $450.00 for items in our China distribution point.
