| Wonderful Tang Dynasty Painted Tomb Pottery Horse Period: Tang Dynasty 618 to 907, China. Size: This wonderful statue is approximately 11.8 inches or 30 centimeters tall. Condition: The statue is in beautiful condition with good original pigment still remaining. Color fading, abrasions, small chips and/or minor deterioration with possible areas of expert restoration is not unusual in burial pieces of this age. Description: This is a very beautiful horse. The horse is beautifully sculpted with a fine, narrow face and strong chest. The horse has a very distinct look on his face. He stands foursquare on his own feet and hooves. This horse is a beautiful red color and still has a great deal of original red pigment still remaining. The horses bridal and reigns are a black color and are very evident in this particular statue. This horse is also wearing a saddle and blanket.
