| Superb Tang Dynasty Painted Tomb Pottery Horse Period: Tang Dynasty 618 to 907, China. Size: This wonderful statue is approximately 12.6 inches or 32 centimeters tall. Condition: The statue is in beautiful condition with good original pigment still remaining. Color fading, abrasions, small chips and/or minor deterioration with possible areas of expert restoration is not unusual in burial pieces of this age. Description: This is a very beautiful horse. The horse is beautifully sculpted with a fine, narrow face and strong chest. The horse has a very distinct look on his face. He stands foursquare on a rectangular slab base. This horse is a beautiful white color and still has a great deal of original pigments still remaining. This horse is also wearing a saddle and blanket. The blanket on the horse is a black color and is outlined in red and the saddle is the same white color as the horse. The bridal and reigns are detailed in black as well. Buyer may request this item TL tested (thermo luminescence) by Oxford Authentication in England for an additional fee of $450.00 for items in our China distribution point.
