Beautiful Tang Dynasty Tomb Pottery Camel

Period: Tang Dynasty, China, AD 618-907.

Size: This camel is approximately 18" tall.

Condition: Good, professional repair to the neck not visible to the eye, some color fading, abrasions, small chips and/or minor deterioration with possible areas of expert restoration is not unusual in burial pieces of this age.

Description: This well-proportioned camel has twin humps and long legs. It also has a long, curving neck. This camel is standing on a small square base. It has a very distinct look on its face also. Camels carried both passengers and goods and were the chief means of transportation along the Silk Road that linked China to the West. Item Number CAM552W.
