Magnificent Han Dynasty Painted Tomb Pottery Cocoon Jar

Period: Han Dynasty, China, 206 BC to 220 AD.

Size: This beautiful jar is approximately 12 inches tall and 12 1/2" wide.

Condition: Good, no visible repairs, color fading, abrasions, small chips and/or minor deterioration with possible areas of expert restoration is not unusual in burial pieces of this age.

Description: This wonderful cocoon jar is one of the larger ones we've come across with nice form , well proportioned and balanced . It is very beautifully sculpted and was skillfully painted and has a lot of original pigment remaining . Item Number 5401JB #1.
