Excellent Han Dynasty Painted Tomb Pottery Horse Torso and Rider W/ Oxford TL Certificate. Period: Han Dynasty, China, 206 BC to 220 AD. Size: This sculpture measures approximately 10" tall. Condition: Good, no visible repairs to the rider or the horse torso. Minor deterioration and chip is not unusual in burial pieces of this age. Description: This horse torso and rider are made of gray pottery and covered with a white slip. Original pigment in brown, black and cray and red still remaining. The horse originally had wooden legs that have rotted away. Both the horse and rider have been thermoluminesence tested dating the last firing to between 1500 to 2400 years old. Item Number 5599HH.
