Exceptional and Rare Yuan Dynasty Zodiac Dragon

Period: Yuan Dynasty, China, AD 1279-1368.

Size: This magnificent dragon is approximately 5.25" tall.

Condition: Color fading, abrasions, small chips and/or minor deterioration with possible areas of expert restoration is not unusual in burial pieces of this age.

Description: This is an exceptional Yuan Dynasty zodiac dragon. It is beautifully sculpted with great detail. This piece is also very rare. This dragon has a very distinct expression and sits up proud and strong. There is a small, red wax stamp on the dragon's head. It does no damage to the pottery. It is there for exporting reasons. It is easily removable with no damage to the pottery and will be removed before being shipped out. This is an excellent example of tomb pottery of the Yuan Dynasty in China.
